Work Experience Accommodation
If you’re visiting London for work experience during your school year, or during the holidays – you might be on the lookout for a reasonably priced, safe and secure option for accommodation and housing.
Let’s face it, there are lots of options for accommodation in London, but many are super competitive – which isn’t surprising given there are many schools and universities in the city all competing for places in housing.
Moving to London for work experience can be a daunting prospect, and it’s certainly a big step into adulthood. Finding your feet in a big city such as London can take time, and anything you can do to make the process quicker and easier is hugely beneficial.
Choosing Homestay
Here at HFS London we provide homestay accommodation and housing for students and work experience placements, within the homes of existing London locals or “host families”. We check all our hosts in person, so you can trust you’ll be staying in a friendly household with people who can be trusted, and you’ll even get to message your host family before arriving too – to build up a friendship.
Our host families that are registered with HFS London, all have a spare room to rent in their home, which they then trust us with filling. We’ll match you up with a suitable host family, and then when you go and live in London for your work placement, you’ll do so in their house, already feeling at home.
It’s affordable, it’s authentic (you get to experience London life like a real Londoner!) and it’s safe. SO you can focus on your work experience, rather than worrying about finding accommodation or housing when you arrive.
Why is it Such a Great Choice?
Put simply, when you’re away from home, it’s nice to feel like you’ve settled into a home from home.
Our host families are great at making their guests feel at home, and they’re on hand to have a conversation, discuss your day, or even cook you dinner – depending on which food option you’ve chosen as part of your package.
There’s also the added advantage of having a friend in the city who can recommend places for you to visit and check out. London is a big place, and it can be a little overwhelming when you don’t have a guiding voice! Your host family might be able to recommend their favourite west end show, or their favourite sushi restaurant, or even the best local takeaway.
It’s great having someone close-by who knows the city and knows what they’re talking about.
